Plant Summary / Shift Overview: All Faulty Shift Data Displayed Now

Shifts marked red in the Plant Summary and in the Shift Overview point out erroneous shift data. Even so, up to now clicking on such a red shift could lead to no faulty entries being displayed in the classical Production Statistics interface if the entry type concerned was being hidden at that moment.

Now all erroneous entries are displayed no matter if their type is set to "View" or not.

Irregular Shifts Marked in the Plant Summary's Shift Overview

Shift Overview: Irregular Shifts In order to have nice shift starting times in the statistics some users change the actual shift start to an even time (e.g. 4:52 to 5:00). If any events have occurred in the time span between real and made-up start time (e.g. a quality check at 4:56) they unintentionally get to be placed outside the shift.

PC-Topp reacts to this by creating an extra pseudo shift with normal shift length which contains these lost events. As this pseudo shift totally falsifies the working time of the day concerned it must be corrected by all means.

To make sure that you notice those pseudo shifts they are now highlighted in the Shift Overview page by displaying them in brackets.

Overview of Underrun Orders Available

Underrun Orders Underruns cause trouble at the customer or make costly re-runs necessary to complete the order. The new Underrun Orders page lets you spot orders where an underrun will occur so you can take action before the damage is done. It shows you at a glance if there are any such orders, and to what extent they are underrun.

Red and Orange Underruns

The number of produced sheets for the order appears on a red background for serious underruns, and on an orange background if the order is underrun, but the underrun can be tolerated.

1850 Red means that the order is seriously underrun, i.e. the number of finished goods is below the minimum because
5230 Orange means that the order is underrun but not critically so, i.e. the number of finished goods is within the Minimum Overrun Tolerance (Min. %) for this order.

In other words, orange will only appear if the new Minimum Overrun Tolerance field in the classical Order Entry / Update screen is used.

The Underrun Orders page can be viewed on http://demo.pctopp.com

Windows NT No Longer Supported

Microsoft has today ended its support for the Windows NT operating system.

We must also announce that PC-Topp.NET is not supported any more under Windows NT. That is so because many of Microsoft's system components that PC-Topp needs to function don't work under that legacy operating system. PC-Topp.NET clients are supported exclusively under Windows XP Professional and under Windows 2000. Support under future versions of Windows will be announced as soon as any adaptations that may be required have been implemented.

If your system still runs under Windows NT, then you should strongly consider upgrading to new hardware and an up-to-date operating system. New hardware will most likely be necessary as it is likely that your PC is many years old, and cannot show the complex PC-Topp.NET web pages with adequate speed.

Corrugator Monitor Shows Information Day's Production

Day Production In order to offer additional information on the total corrugator production of the day, a new section has been added to the Corrugator Monitor. Next to the main section displaying performance and efficiency figures a box entitled "Entire Day" has been inserted that displays the following values covering all shifts on the current day up to the present moment:

  • Area produced (in m²)
  • Lineal meters produced (in m)
  • Production time (in h)

The "Entire Day" section affords a quick overview of the production results achieved so far. It can be displayed or hidden according to the users' needs.
