The Corrugator Terminal

Easy production data recording with and without corrugator online link

Some older corrugators do not allow an online connection to the machine. The primary purpose of the PC-Topp Corrugator Terminal is to obtain permanent feedback of production data from the corrugator where the PC-Topp Corrugator Online Link cannot be used. Besides, the terminal also enables the flow of planning information towards the corrugator.

The PC-Topp Corrugator Terminal offers either manual production recording or, with the help of a counter, an elegant solution for semi-automatic production recording. Moreover, it provides several functions that are useful in any environment with or without Corrugator Online Link.

Functions of the Corrugator Terminal

Besides showing a program summary as well as run and order details right at the corrugator, the Corrugator Terminal serves the following purposes:

1. Production Feedback from the corrugator

With a few keystrokes after every run the system is informed on current corrugator production. The Corrugator Terminal ensures that the Program Memory is always up to date, and makes the current production data available to the host system. Moreover, the data obtained with the Corrugator Terminal are used to create production statistics.

2. Pallet Label Printing

The Corrugator Terminal can also be used to print labels in the corrugator control room, or right at the stackers.

3. Personnel and Shift Data Recording

The Corrugator Terminal is also capable of recording the work times of the corrugator staff. When somebody begins or finishes his work at the machine he can log on and off or sign in at a different machine with the Corrugator Terminal. The Terminal also displays all personnel who are currently working and lets the operator enter shift beginnings and ends.

4. Downtime Recording

Another function provided by the Corrugator Terminal is the recording of downtimes. Whenever a downtime occurs the operator enters its start and end time along with its reason.

Operation Modes of the Corrugator Terminal

Depending on equipment, technical possibilities and individual requirements on site, the functions of the Corrugator Terminal outlined above can be used in several different ways.

1.1. Semi-Automatic Production Data Recording

Where an online connection to the corrugator is not possible the optional use of a counter (type IVO 212) enables virtually automatic feedback on production and downtimes from the corrugator. All the operator has to do is to confirm produced runs from time to time.

1.2. Manual Production Data Entry

Manual production data recording can be done anytime without any additional equipment. Just the produced meters have to be entered by hand while the starting and ending times of orders are captured automatically. A few keystrokes after every run are enough to keep PC-Topp permanently up-to-date.

2. Pallet Label Printing
Pallet label printing is available in any of the modes described here. If desired, the Corrugator Terminal can be exclusively used for this purpose. The Terminal prints pallet labels by program or by combination.

3. Recording of Shifts and Personnel

The Corrugator Terminal also offers the option of capturing shift data and information on staff work time, i.e. who comes, who leaves, and who is working at which machine. Using this feature with a corrugator online link also makes sense if the corrugator does not supply these data.

4. Downtime Recording

Manual entry of downtime starts, ends and reasons can be made easier if a counter is used. The start and end times of downtimes are then captured automatically, and the operator only has to select a reason. Combined with the Corrugator Online Link, the Corrugator Terminal can also be used to augment the downtime information provided by the corrugator.
