Work in Progress

View a summary of this page.

Visualizing peaks and troughs of work in progress

With the Work in Progress page, critical levels of work in progress in Conversion and Shipping are recognized immediately.

The page shows the amount of orders waiting in front of every machine. It displays the conversion stock total as well as the stock figures for the individual machines during a user defined time span, in selectable intervals.

Like in the TGV Machine Load, similar machines can be grouped to display not just the work in progress on each machine, but also the combined work in progress for the group of machines.

The status of production on the conveyor leading to the bander machines is displayed below Conversion. This line indicates the points in time when queues develop in front of the banders.
Selectable Display Units
The unit in which the figures should be displayed can be selected according to the user's needs and the machine concerned. (For more details see the PC-Topp News.)

Alert Levels
The user can set individual alert levels for all machines or groups of machines displayed on the page to receive alerts in the form of color highlighted figures whenever work in progress reaches a critical level there.

Direct Access to Order Information
Like in Conversion Machine Scheduling and the TGV Machine Load, order information can be accessed with a mouse click on a figure in a machine row: A popup box displays the orders making up the work in progress for that machine at the selected point of time.

This feature allows checking peaks or troughs of work in progress to see which orders can be re-scheduled to reduce or increase work in progress on the machine in question.
