INEOS Automotive chairman Sir Jim Radcliffe has unveiled its new 4×4 vehicle, the INEOS Fusilier, in London this week.

The vehicle is smaller than the Grenadier, INEOS’ first model which entered production in 2022.
Radcliffe was joined by INEOS Group Head of Design, Toby Ecuyer and former Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond.
Alongside the previously announced all-electric powertrain (BEV), it was confirmed that a low emission range-extender electric is in development.
The range-extender option consists of a small petrol engine that powers a generator to maintain the charge level of the battery for when external charging isn’t available.

By GlobalDataThe BEV version will offer approximately 400km (249 miles) of range, with an additional 270km (168 miles) with the gas engine extender.
Confirmation of the alternative powertrain details and launch timings are expected by autumn 2024. When questioned by journalists, Radcliffe indicated that production was scheduled to begin early to mid-2027, pending design finalisations.
He also disclosed that Samsung is supply the new SUV’s battery, which will be produced in South Korea.
On whether INEOS was considering manufacturing in the US, due to the Inflation Reduction Act incentives, Sir Jim Radcliffe said that of US and China, “you have to look at those markets,” but added, “we haven’t reached any conclusion.”
The Fusilier was developed in conjunction with auto supplier, Magna, which will also manufacture the vehicle in its facility in Graz, Austria. INEOS partnered with Magna on the development of the Grenadier SUV and Quartermaster pickup.
Part of the development process for the Fusilier will include a rigorous testing programme on Austria’s Schöckl mountain, close to Magna’s complete vehicle assembly facility in Graz.
The Fusilier will be slightly shorter in length than the Grenadier, which began production in July 2022. Probed on sales of the Grenadier, Radcliffe said “it is going really well,” but did not provide figures.
